site in the directory? [top] A: From any of the link directory pages
click on "Add a Resource", then fill in completely the
form which is displayed. We will email you an acknowledgement once we have
processed your request.
Q: Which of my pages should
I list? [top] A: Feel free to list any and all Olsen
related websites that you have. If your Olsen website is made up of several
pages, all linked together, kindly just list the main (home) page,
not all the individual pages.
Q: How do I decide
which category to list my link under? [top] A: Well, if you are listing your
entire Olsen website, list it under our Fan Websites section. If
you have a message board or some other specific section on your site that
fits one of our other categories, feel free to list the URLs pointing to
those exact sections in our database.
Example: http://www.yoursite.com/~mypage is your main page,
so list it in the Fan Websites section.
You also have a photo gallery section on your page, say at http://www.yoursite.com/~mypage/pics.html,
so list this URL in the Photo Galleries section. I think you
get the idea. In other words, where possible please list exact links to
subsections of your sites that fall into any of our more specific categories.
Q: How do I update
my listings? [top] A: You can suggest a modification
to a link listed in our directory through the "Modify a Resource" selection.
We say 'suggest', because unless you are the person responsible
for the listed site, we may not accept your recommendation.
Q: What should I include
in the description when I submit a link? [top] A: Without using too many words, tell
what your site has to offer. This description will be shown next to your
link. Also, when a visitor to OlsenTwins.net does a search, the description
you entered will be scanned for possible matches. All the more reason to
state the significant things your site has to offer. Whatever you do though,
don't just submit a list of keywords. Wrap them into some form of sentence(s),
or your submission may be rejected. And again, though we have no hard limit
set right now on the length of a description we will accept, please try
to keep it brief and to the point.
Q: Can I list my site in
more than one category? [top] A: If your site fits more than
one category you may list it in all the appropriate categories. But please
remember, we would prefer that if you are listing in more than one category,
you submit specific links to the section of your site that fits the specific
category.
Q: My link doesn't seem
to fit any of the listed catgories, how do I suggest a new category?
[top] A: Submit your suggestion for
a new category or subcategory (yes we can create those too), to linksadmin@olsentwins.net.
Our selection of categories right now is rather preliminary. We imagine
as the number of links in the database grows there will certainly be a
need for more categories and subcategories to keep things organized. So
please, don't hesitate to submit suggestions.
Q: Why do I have to provide
a valid name and email address when adding/modifying a link? [top] A: Basically we need a name and
email to attach in our records to every link submitted. We use this information
if and when we need to contact you regarding your link, and to authenticate
your link submission. None of this contact information is listed on the
website, and it is only kept on private file by OlsenTwins.net for administrative
purposes. All personal information is kept strictly confidential and
not provided to any 3rd parties.
Suggestion: When submitting your personal Olsen related pages,
please provide the same email address in your submission, as the email
address you have listed on your pages. This will speed processing.
Q: What links can I list?
Which links shouldn't I list? [top] A: You may list any Olsen related
links. Please do not submit any links that have no direct relation to the
topic of the Olsen Twins. Any off topic submissions will be rejected with
no acknowledgement of such disposition.
Additionally, as a matter of courtesy, we prefer that you only list those
personal Olsen pages and links for which you are responsible. Submissions
and modifications from the site owner have highest priority, so to avoid
hassles later, just submit your own sites.
Q: How soon will my links show
up in the database, if accepted? [top] A: Link submissions will usually
be processed within 24 - 48 hours. Following the guidelines outlined in
this FAQ, will ensure your submission is processed as quickly as possible.
Q: How does my site get listed
in the "What's Cool" listing? [top] A: The "What's Cool" listing
is a list of those links which people are selecting the most in our directory.
So it is a moderate indication of site popularity. One additional way you
can boost your "What's Cool" rating, is to provide
a link back to OlsenTwins.net, as outlined in the email you receive in
response to your link submission. We are formulating other techniques to
better and more fairly rate sites in the "What's Cool" listing.
We'll announce developments as appropriate.
Q: What is a "Top Rated" site?
[top] A: All links in our directory
listings have a "Rate It" link next to them. This link
allows people to rate your site on a 1-10 scale. We compile these votes
to generate a listing of the sites with the most votes, and the sites with
the highest overall ratings. We plan to provide a voting link you can place
right on your own page in the near future.
